One of Britain’s most colourful garden visitors, the Small Tortoiseshell
loves the flowers of buddleia, michaelmas daisies and sedum.
Over winter hibernating butterflies may be found in houses and
outbuildings. The black and yellow caterpillars feed on stinging nettles.
